Monday night I made a homemade meatloaf, cheesy potatoes and fresh green beans. Last night I pulled out 6 Tupperware bowls of leftovers, popped the tops off and everyone microwaved a tablespoon of whatever was left. Both nights my family was fed. Both nights we laughed over dinner and both nights we were thankful.
Listen, I know there are days. Days when you feel like you can’t even wrap your mind around pouring a bowl of cereal. Days when you feel like you can’t put those scrubs or uniform on 𝒪𝓃𝑒 more time and walk into the war zone that was once just your job. Days when you feel like everyone around you is making crafts and playing board games but you can’t even stand the sound of your kids whining for one more second so you put them in front of the T.V. and mindlessly scroll through TikTok videos instead. Days when you feel like you’ve lost all control of life and you don’t know if it will ever become normal again.
𝐼𝓉’𝓈 𝑜𝓀. You’re not just doing an “ok” job you’re actually doing an 𝒜𝓂𝒶𝓏𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒿𝑜𝒷.
We are all are living a new reality in some way. Some of us are sheltering in place with no income. Some of us are still going to work and have suddenly gone from a regular employee to a front line hero. Some of us are losing are darn minds and can’t listen to one more news update without shaking deep inside of our bones. Some of us are not sleeping. Some of us are sleeping way more...whatever they case, it’s a new reality for ALL of us and the fact that you’re waking up each morning, ready to face it again makes you amazing.
Day by day friends. Stop being so hard on yourselves. You’re doing an 𝒜𝓂𝒶𝓏𝒾𝓃𝑔 job.
