Mindset 101

Man, it’s been tough, hasn’t it?

I’ve never fought harder to get through a day with a healthy positive mind set. How about you?

SO MUCH NEGATIVITY is starting to take its toll on a lot of us and that makes it even more difficult to keep walking the path of joy but here’s the thing...our mindset is our #1 most important asset that we have. Everything else will follow and fall into place. When you train your brain to have NO other choice than to choose optimism then everything that is supposed to fall into place will.

But how? How do we have a healthy, positive, joyful mind set when every thing around us feels tense, negative and scary?

The answer is: 𝓹𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓬𝓮

Yep-practicing this new mindset is crucial for change. Just as physical activity changes your body, practicing positive mindset will change your mind.

Terry and I have been actively working on this and ya’ll it’s freaking hard. We made a pact last week that we would call each other out anytime either of us says something negative and then we either put a positive spin on what we were about to say or we just hush. It is ALL day long. Pointing out each other’s bad habits of complaining, gossiping, sarcasm, doom (“we’re screwed, we’re broke, greattt”- just some of our favorite negative chatter that 𝒽𝒶𝒹 to stop) was constant in the beginning...but then yesterday something amazing happened. We found ourselves with extra hours to put in the good work. Work towards goals, work towards change + productivity and when we finally fell into bed it was a whole different tired. Excited for the next day, full of ideas and satisfaction instead of gloom and doom.

I will be posting some challenges staring with today’s challenge-

💫𝒫𝓇𝒶𝒸𝓉𝒾𝒸𝑒 𝒸𝒽𝒶𝓃𝑔𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓂𝒾𝓃𝒹𝓈𝑒𝓉 💫

Ask a friend or partner to join you in this quest and make each other accountable (pick a code word that means you are “doing it again” and remind each other by using this word)

Want to go on this journey alone? Place a rubber band around your wrist. Anytime you have a negative thought or start to feel yourself getting pulled in that direction- snap it gently as a reminder to shift your thinking (This is a great anxiety tool too. I think my amazing friend Todd Huenecke taught me this one)

Then-give us some feedback and we will do the same! It’s going to take work and practice and you won’t believe the change in your every day once it becomes a new healthy habit. Can’t wait to grow with you!

Have a great day-
